Health Savings Accounts (HSAs)

Premier Members now offers Health Savings Account (HSA). There are many advantages to opening an HSA, including protecting yourself from unexpected expensive medical bills.  With something as serious as health care it's comforting to know that your credit union is here to make sure you are financially prepared.

What is an HSA?

A Health Savings Account is a tax-exempt account that you can set up and contribute to in order to pay for certain medical expenses throughout the year.

Who's Eligible for a HSA?

All members are eligible for a HSA who are currently enrolled in a high deductible health plan (HDHP), not enrolled in Medicare, are under the age of 65 and who cannot be claimed as a dependent on any other person’s tax return.

HSA Benefits

• Contributions may be tax deductible (please consult with a tax advisor for more information)
• Contributions stay in your account from year to year until you use them
• Contributions may be made by any individual, including family members
• Investment earnings are tax-free
• No Annual or monthly fee
• No transaction fees
• Free Debit card with account
